I love my life. How about you?
This is the only single life we'll have in the world, so why should we waste our time on nonsense stuff, right? We probably only have 75 years. Not much time to do everything we want to do. I want to travel around the world. Yes, that is my greatest dream. But something tells me I won't be able to accomplish it. Oh well.
75 years may be short for us to do everything we want, but it certainly is enough to make a difference. That way, our memory will last forever in the generations we help to become better. So stop whining about how you got no date for the ball or how your team lost the basketball game or how your school is better than this or that. There's a lot of more worthwhile matters to think about and things to discover than those inane things.
Cheer up. Enjoy your life. Leave a mark!

Some Points to Ponder On

What's your stand?
For the past three years of my stay at DLSU, i have heard just about every criticism there is about lasallians. How rich kids we are, how spoiled we are, how stupid we are, how illogical we are, how... every how's you can think of.
Some of them, i have to agree, but most of them - i really don't.
So when i heard someone said that the lasallian brothers are just doing what they are doing for the sake of attention... i just have to stop and raise an eyebrow.
I don't fully support the idea of the church medling with politics... but hey man, saying THAT statement is crossing the line. For one, it's not about being a part of a sect or craving for that illusive taste of fame - but rather living out the values and principles that you believe in. The lasallian brothers and "the religious", as they have even before during Marcos regime, swore an oath to protect individuals whose life are put into danger. This is the very reason why you see all those nuns and priests surrounding Lozada. However, housing his family in LSGH was made by the request of Jun Lozada's wife because four of their kids study there.
La Salle is often criticize for their blunt stand against corruption (gma in short) and the belief in the importance of truth. I commend my school for this, because they are not afraid to let their voice heard. The institution serves as a good model for its students, a university that teaches the youth to make a stand, may it be against or pro, and not to act aloof and indifferent of our country's situation. What is important too, is that my school does not force its students to side with them. We are given the freedom to make our own decisions by being aware of our environment.
I think that it is not enough for us to ace our subjects and be over achievers in our extra curriculars. We too have to take a stand and create change for the benefit of alleviating our country's situation. I'm passionate about this because pretty soon i would be out there in the real world and i can't have leaders who would be stepping on my rights as a citizen of this country. As a student, i won't allow an environment that hinders me to maximize my potentials and make true of the statement "youths are the hope of the future".
and most especially... I'm not willing to accept freely the idea of a prosperous economy yet an unethical system of governance.
Are we sending a message internationally that it is okay to have our rights tarnished just for the sake of positive exchange rates, High Growth Rates.. etc.?
I have heard it a million times, that there is no good leader who would replace GMA given the circumstances. So would that reasoning be enough to let her reign for two more years?
I have made my stand. and i would definitely have myself be counted. I just hope that other people have made theirs.
Filipino or not - comment on it.

A beautiful story
Got this from a stanger's blog...
Bing, a beautiful Filipina fell in love with Edong.
She planned to marry very soon. She was so happy about her wedding
plans, she decided to tell her Tatay (dad).
Her Tatay told her, "Bing, you'll have to find another. Your Nanay
(mom) does not know this, but Edong is your half-brother" .
So Bing forgot about her Edong, and soon planned to marry Ricardo.
But after telling tatay again, he said, "Bing, anak ko (my child),
there's trouble still. You cannot marry Ricardo. Please don't tell
your mother, but Ricardo and Edong are your half-brothers. "
Bing had no choice but to go to her Nanay. Nanay already knew and
said "Anak ko, do what makes you happy. Marry Ricardo or marry
Edong, because you are not related to Tatay."
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY....
Belated Happy Valentines Day people! :)

In memory of Nameless.

december2007 - feb2008
... There are only few times in my life that i really cried hard, and one of them is when my dog dies.
But this time it's different. I woke up this morning to a "Deb... patay na anak ni naomi", and i have to blink twice to absorb the thought that little furball is dead already. I didn't cry though - but i still felt the remorse of the loss. My only regret is that i haven't named her - i couldn't decide for the past few days. It's useless now... she's gone and i won't be able to hold her anymore. The downside of having a pet is acknowledging the fact that they won't forever be with you. It's the same idea that i kept on shrugging not only when it comes to my dogs, but also to the people around me. As they say though... life goes on. It's the memories that count.

Oh, the Irony
This is also posted in my other blog.

These are the same people who said they call for change.
These are the same people who have all the time to join oh-so-many rallies in Makati.
These are the same people who said they are for the poor.
Here they are, calling for change while having a sip of Starbucks coffee.
Folks, this is what they call 'activism'.

Swindle-ing Alert!

I don't understand why some people in this world have to go to the lowest means just to get your money - pulling you into a fabricated story, where you end up giving them one of your possessions out of pity or just following instructions, let's say... your 6600 cellphone. Poverty i know is one of the biggest reasons why crimes are ever-so-present in the Philippines. But still... i think swindle is the lowest of them all... Why!? because, at the end they make you feel stupid and ... more stupid as days pass by. Unlike hold-ups where you can honestly say that you can not have done anything to stop it.
BUT NOOO.... swindlers are the scum of the society!
I haven't experienced this kind of deception. But still, having to witness the aftermath of it... boils my blood to the highest point.
TO ALL SWINDLERS OUT THERE ... please give my friend's 6600 cellphone back.. he misses it badly. :(

Lasallista Po
My friend, shoti, took this picture
Looking at it... i kept on rewinding the number of times i have walked in those corridors. I just hope that i could leave a mark in my school... not considering the vandalisms that i have made on tables. hehe. But seriously - i want to give back to the system that has helped me become who i am today. Cliche as it may sound, i really mean those words. I'm thinking of either teaching or donating a building haha. And i'll name it... Debbie :)

How to Lose Weight
It has been a trend in the industry and considered as the new "golden oil" for years now. Women in general are obssessed to look like magazine models and even dress like them. In the Philippines whitening products are becoming a fad - which for me is just simply weird.
Anyway, i am one of those who once undergo the process of... slimming down. Yes, it's a process - it took me two and a half month just to lose 20 pounds. It's not because i wanted to look like one of those superficial people, but more for the health reasons.
